We are sad to report that Bertram Slaff died in New York on October 17, 2013. Dr. Slaff, a distinguished psychiatrist, had been a longtime friend and supporter of Dalkey Archive Press. Coleman Dowell‘s companion for many years, Bert became very involved with Dalkey after Coleman’s death, including serving as a board member for the past nineteen years. In the 1990s, Bert made a major donation to the Press to establish the Coleman Dowell Literature Series.
His friendship will be sorely missed.
