Fund A Fellowship

Dalkey Archive’s fellowships in Applied Translation are designed to offer unique opportunities for young people to develop as translators, publishers, and literary advocates. Funding a fellowship is a chance to support and encourage young translators, as well as to maintain Dalkey Archive’s commitment to innovative literature in translation.

The Applied Translation program was created in response to the need on a national and international level for providing practical experience to young literary translators. Translators work closely with editors, publishers, and funding agencies, and gain first hand insight into the world of literary publishing, while contributing their expertise in world languages and literatures to the ongoing work at the press. As part of the program, each fellow translates a complete book to be published by Dalkey Archive Press by the end of the fellowship year.

Funders can include, but are not limited to, Ministries of Culture, funding agencies, embassies (Culture and or Tourism Offices), foundations, and private individuals.

Organizations and individuals that wish to receive more information on this program should contact Chad W. Post at chad@deepvellum.org.
